Stop Building Ideas That Were Never Going to Work

The 10-Minute Validation Worksheet I Use Before I Build Anything

Most ebooks, courses, and side projects don’t fail because of bad execution.
They fail because they were never validated in the first place.

This worksheet exists to kill weak ideas before they cost you weeks or months.

No tools.
No prompts.
No AI hype.

Just logic.

What This Is (And What It Isn’t)

This is not:

– A business plan

– A motivational workbook

– A “find your passion” exercise

– A list of AI tools

This is:

– A ruthless validation filter

– A forced-clarity system

– A yes/no gate before you build anything

If you can’t complete this worksheet honestly, the idea is not ready.
That’s the point.

Why Most People Get Validation Wrong

They validate with:

– Likes

– Views

– Compliments

– “Sounds interesting” feedback

None of that matters.

This worksheet only cares about:

– Real problems

– Real signals

– Real willingness to pay

If those don’t exist, you stop.
Time saved is the win.

What You’ll Do in 10 Minutes

This worksheet forces you to answer six things — in order:

1. Define the Problem (Not the Product)

You are not allowed to mention tools, AI, or features.
Only the problem.
Only the person experiencing it.

If you can’t do this cleanly, you already failed.

2. Prove the Problem Is Real

No assumptions allowed.

You must list concrete signals:

– People asking about it

– People complaining about it

– People paying for partial solutions

– People hacking workarounds

If this section is weak, you stop.

3. Acknowledge Existing Solutions (Without Ego)

Competition is proof of demand.

You’ll list what people already do instead — and why it’s insufficient.

If there are no existing solutions, that’s a red flag, not an opportunity.

4. Reality-Check Willingness to Pay

Interest doesn’t count.
Engagement doesn’t count.

You’ll answer one uncomfortable question:

Have people already paid to solve this?

If not, what adjacent problem do they pay for?

5. Disqualify the Idea (Yes / No Only)

No nuance. No justification.

If you answer “No” more than once, you don’t proceed.

6. Make a Verdict

Validated.
Interesting but unproven.
Or not worth pursuing.

Most ideas will die here.
That’s success.

Who This Is For

This is for you if:

– You’re tired of building things that don’t sell

– You want logic before effort

– You prefer killing bad ideas early

– You plan to sell something (ebook, template, service, product)

This is especially useful if you:

– Overthink

– Start strong and fade out

– Keep “refining” instead of deciding

Who This Is Not For

This is not for you if:

– You want encouragement instead of truth

– You believe execution alone fixes bad ideas

– You want AI to “figure it out for you”

– You’re emotionally attached to your idea

This worksheet will not be kind to weak ideas.
That’s intentional.

What This Unlocks Next

This worksheet is Part 1 of the Start-From-Zero system.

Only after passing this step do you earn the right to:

– Scope the product

– Position it properly

– Design something worth selling

No validation → no building.
